Ombretta has been recovering from her two torn ACL's (both knees) that happened over the course of about 18 months... Well that was about 2.5 years ago now and so this Christmas we were going to put them to the test on her snowboard!  We were both apprehensive, I must say, because the stresses that a snowboard puts on the knee joint is considerable - particularly when you are dragging it along in the lift lines. 

Well, good fortune smiles upon us!  Not only did we get a good foot of fresh snow the day we drove up the mountain, we also had very few people on the mountains and Ombra's knees were good and strong! We got in three days of morning 'til night skiing/boarding with friends, we also had a day of snowshoeing with our dear friend Barbara, and a day of hiking when it warmed up and the snow disappeared...

It was a wonderful vacation in the mountains and we really enjoyed every minute of it!
