After several months delay in my training this year, it looks like I am finally starting to get my s... together!
Did an endurance test on my training bike today (not focusing on speed) after a 2.7K swim this morning. Langley-"Spring Onion"-Langley. 177K (110 miles) + 1,630m (5,350 ft) of climbing in just at tad over 6 hours, with Spring Onion in only 3.54. But, best of all, at an average heart rate of only 125, which is very low.
Was supposed to run too, but got home fairly cold after a very windy and cold day - so decided to eat a family size Domino's Pepperoni pizza instead!
All in all 4 productive days with 26K/16 miles running (2 sessions), 8.2K swim (3 sessions) and 311K/193 miles biking (3 sessions). Will take the day off tomorrow :-)
Now just need to work on bricks, running and swimming intensity and distance and I should be reasonably ready for IM Lanzarote in less than 3 weeks! 2 weeks ago I was starting to panick; now it feels pretty good!
Yeah, I think I have learned to listen to my body by now. It's taken a bit of practice though.
Hopefully sometime in the future I can increase the speed - we'll see! Right now I am just grateful for what I am capable of.

Good choices, Lars! Particularly the family-sized pizza over a run! ;o) Glad to see that you are in such solid condition considering the relative lay-off... How does that go? You take care of the body and the body takes care of you...
