Lake District, Cumbria, England

After Gran Canaria and its pleasant temperature and blue skies, this was much colder and wetter and windier. It was raining every day, so I had to buy special waterproof trousers. Then we walked no matter how much rain came down. These pictures were all made in one day, the only day it did not constantly rain. We were almost blown off the mountain at certain points though. Am now memoring about this because it was so nice to be outside in the mountains so often. Beats working in an office! No matter what the weather is.

Suggestive country with typical autumn colours. But ... a little dreary?

Colder, wetter... but beautiful countryside, Beatrice!  Looks like you had a great time...Laughing

Looked up the meaning of dreary Valter and it's : dismal; bleak, boring or dull. These are indeed autumn pictures but it's absolutely beautiful, even though it's grey because the sun was missing. Prince Charles of England goes there at least once a year because it is so beautiful! Since you think the pics are dull, I will not waste the time to post all the other pics then, since there's not much sun on these either!

But yes Ron, I thought it was absolutely beautiful countryside, even though it was wet and windy and lacking sun rays...

I'm amazed at the rugged country-side. Along with the amazing dark and roiling clouds... Just beautiful!  I also liked the shot of you laying against the wind and Kipper staying close to the ground in order not to be blown away... Too cute!  Thanks for posting, Beatrice.  Really enjoyed seeing the trek you took.

Thanks for the 'roiling clouds' Ron; I did not know the word 'roiling', had to look it up with google translation, beautifully said! Horribly cold here now but with plenty of sun all week, nice. I guess you are having about 25°C and are swimming in the ocean every day, which will get your leg perfectly cured.
