Funny that this picture is called Madagascar 007, makes me feel like one of the many Bond-girls, except I'm not made up at all and I don't do any extreme sports like rollerman or kitesurfing. This amazing creature I have on my hand, is a night lemur. Nick (then diplomat at the Amercian Embassy in Tananarivo) caught it in my room, well, hut really, because we were in the middle of nowhere and I liked it so much I wanted to take it home, but this being forbidden... Besides that, lemurs are primates that are not as developped as apes, so you cannot teach them not to pee nor do caca. I really honestly wanted to take it underneath my clothes through customs (at that time I do not think they had the X-ray control for people yet), even if it had done pipi, I would have found a solution, that's how much I was in love with those lemurs in Madagascar. These primates come in all sizes and colours : a wonderful world! But then I thought about that poor little cuty of a night lemur that would have been alone in my apartment, me working all day and being away a lot, so I did not take it and just released it in the wild.
This is a fabulous little night lemure Ron, the smallest one of them all (see my comment I put above the picture because of you asking). I am glad you like it too! It was really hard to let go of! This was actually after we survided the boat trip back with no injuries at all, I still have the wetsuit on! The present for our bravery was this little cuty. Lucky me!
