Actually this is a lie : I was there twenty-one years ago, but that time I took the cable car up AND down and only hiked the last little part from the cable car to the top. At that time you did not need a visa for this yet. Now you cannot get up to the top without a visa, even though you do not have to pay for this visa, the reason being that the government wants to have control over the amount of people getting to the top per day, so that the rocks do not get damaged.
